This project transforms a row of disused lock-up garages in Bethnal Green into a terrace of four bespoke family mews houses, thoughtfully designed to complement the surrounding urban fabric.
Situated in a densely developed area, the site posed significant spatial constraints, requiring a sensitive design approach that balances daylight, views, and privacy. The resulting architecture responds to these challenges with a carefully considered material palette of brick, timber, and black zinc, adding texture and character to the streetscape.
Inside, the houses feature split-level layouts, creating varied interior volumes that enhance the sense of space and light. The interplay of enclosure, natural daylight, and layered views contributes to a dynamic and engaging living environment. These bespoke homes seamlessly integrate into their surroundings while offering modern, high-quality family living in the heart of Bethnal Green.
