Ventilation Testing (Part F)

Adequate ventilation in buildings is essential, not only to provide a healthy environment, but also to prevent condensation and the issues that it can create such as mould formation. It is therefore essential that where systems have been put in place to meet the building’s requirements, that these operate as they should.

It is therefore a legal requirement for mechanical ventilation systems to have their flow rates measured on site and a notice given to Building Control as part of Approved Document Part F of the Building Regulations. This requirement applies to intermittent extract fans (i.e. those provided to kitchens and bathrooms) as well as continuously running systems such as Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR).

We are able to carry out these tests alongside our air pressure tests or acoustic tests, leading to reduced disruption on site.
