Wooldridge & Simpson were appointed as main contractor for the demolition of an existing house and construction of seven high-end apartments in North Oxford. Designed by Adrian James Architects, the project blends contemporary design with sustainable urban densification, increasing housing capacity while maintaining the area’s character.
We supported the project’s sustainability strategy and Part L compliance from design to completion, ensuring high energy efficiency through enhanced insulation, airtight construction, and a MVHR system. The building operates on a 100% electric heating and hot water system, eliminating gas reliance. A Bauder membrane roof with photovoltaic panels further enhances energy efficiency, positioning the development for future carbon-negative operation as the UK’s National Grid decarbonises.
The construction features a steel frame, Metsec, bespoke metal cladding, and contemporary aluminium windows, with luxury interior finishes. Externally, the development integrates landscaped spaces and electric vehicle charging points, supporting sustainable urban living.
Woodstock Apartments sets a benchmark for sustainable residential development, demonstrating how smart densification and forward-thinking energy strategies can reduce carbon impact while delivering high-quality homes.
